Checklist for Wired Network Setup:
1. Turn the printer on.
2. Ensure the printer is connected to the network.
Checklist for Wireless Network Setup:
1. Turn the printer on.
2. Ensure the «Wireless» is turned on for the printer. (Typically signified by Blue Light on printer.)
3. Write down the wireless setting for your network. They are stored in the access point (the box with antennas).
4. To get to the access point:
a. Press the Windows key and the R key. Type CMD and press ENTER.
b. Type IPCONFIG and press ENTER.
c. Write down the IP address that appears in the line that says «Default Gateway». Example «192.162.0.1»
d. Press the Windows key and the R key. Type http:// and press ENTER . Example http://192.168.0.1. That will take you to the access point web server. Check your access point manual for more instructions.
e. You need to find the following settings.
i. SSID or Network name
ii. Encryption (None or disabled, WEP or WPA)
iii. Key or paraphrase
f. If you cannot find these settings, contact the manufacturer of your access point for help.
5. If your printer has an LCD display, press Setup, go to the network menu and select the wireless configuration option (usually called Wireless Setup Wizard) and follow instructions.
Note: If the printer cannot connect to your wireless network:
1. Ensure MAC address control/filter includes new printer’s MAC addresses OR MAC address control/filter is turned «Off».
2. Ensure SID broadcasting is temporary enabled for easier setup.
3. Follow your setup instructions that came with your printer for more information on configuring your wireless printer.
